General
Information
The Western Wisconsin Horse Show Association was formed in 1994 to not
only be a horse show organization, but to be a community of horse
enthusiasts. Since it's formation it has seen steady membership growth
from local and regional clubs, as well as a great turnout for our
year-end banquet in November.
How to Become a
WWHSA member club?
Membership is open to all saddle clubs or organizations who put on
horse shows, want to put
on a horse show, or want their members to be able to ride for points in
the WWHSA show circuit.
Individuals who wish to compete at WWHSA shows and ride for points must
join one of the member saddle
clubs listed under
Member Clubs
on the website or in the handbook.
An annual fee is payable to WWHSA by the member club or organization on
or before the February meeting date.
What benefits are
available with WWHSA membership?
Club members are eligible for points and year end awards in
Hunter, Pleasure, Halter, Games, and Dressage. (Individual members must
also pay a nominal fee for points administration, see rules
of the specific discipline for complete information.)

Club shows can be recognized by WWHSA, and show date is protected for
consecutive years as a member club in good standing (no other show of
the same discipline may be held on the same date).
One page for club's show bill will be printed in the WWHSA annual
handbook. Additional pages for
multiple shows are available at an extra fee per page.
Club information (up to one full page, as provided by the club) will be
printed in the WWHSA annual handbook.
Standardized rules for all WWHSA approved shows.
Other advertising is available about your club's riding activities
and/or training clinics in the WWHSA annual handbook.
Responsibilities of
WWHSA Members
Preliminary show bills for the next show season are due at the November
meeting: preference is given to
existing members.
Completed show bills must be submitted on or before January 15th for
proofreading. Camera ready
show bills are due at the February meeting.
Late show bills will be assessed a $25 late fee. If late fee is not
received, show bill will not be published. NO show bills will be
accepted after February 28th.
If a show bill is not received before the February 28th deadline, that
show will not be sanctioned
by WWHSA. The membership fee will not be refunded to the club, to allow
club members to continue to ride
for points at other WWHSA shows.
Provide membership lists to the designated points keepers by April 1st.
Submit results of your club's show to the appropriate WWHSA points
keeper (as designated in the handbook)
within the three week deadline. Failure will result in a late fee along
with the show points, and the potential for other sanctions.
Individual riders wanting to ride for points must fill out rider
registration form accurately and completely and return by the appointed
date with appropriate fees. Please note that failure to use the name(s)
you have registered your horse(s) under at all shows could result in
points being lost. Do not
assume that the show organizers or points keepers (who may not even be
attending the show) will know that "Goofy" was registered as "Prime
Prizewinner". (Also be sure that anyone that may be registering at
shows
for you, such as parents for their children know what the appropriate
name is.)

Rules and Handbook
A copy of the rules and bylaws are included in each handbook, which
also includes the forms and showbills
for the year. 2008 handbook price is $6. Handbooks for the year should
be available late March or early April.
Awards
In addition to the awards given at each show, WWHSA has year
end awards based on points earned by individuals signed up for points.
These are given out at the Awards banquet, invitations specifically
sent
to those receiving awards. Anyone may attend, there is a fee for the
dinner and awards presentations and
auction, a smaller fee for just the awards and auction. Items may be
donated to the auction and awards sponsored. Sponsors are recognized in
the following year's handbook.
